“Man has no Body distinct from his Soul; for that called Body is a portion of Soul discerned by the five Senses...”

-William Blake, from "Marriage of Heaven and Hell”

The body has profound sacred, psychological and physical meaning. Together we will explore this meaning through dual lenses. One is Kalffian Sandplay where images of the body appear in the sand, and healing occurs through imagery and through the touch of hands in the sand and water. The other lens is Somatic Experiencing, Peter Levine’s method of trauma healing using the sensations experienced in the actual body, as well as through the imagery that arises from the psyche. These lenses, along with the unique offerings of the participants, will inform our dialogue as we experience the Sandplay process of a 38 year old woman healing from childhood abuse.
